This is Sanaphantastron!

Sanaphantastron:

Deliberately far removed from the mainstream.

Sanaphantastron is a passionate, non-commercial music project from Germany. Guided not by conventions, but by pure joy of playing, coupled with a particularly strong experimental spirit, our roots lie in bands of the 1970s, such as Kraftwerk, Neu!, and Guru Guru – the sound of a new beginning, which is now called Krautrock. Against this backdrop, we remain ever-ready to explore new avenues and try out unfamiliar sounds.

Our philosophy and what we offer:

Maximum freedom through minimal means!

Huge technical effort doesn't automatically make music more interesting. On the contrary, high-tech devices with countless presets tend to stifle creativity. We don't want devices and software to dictate the sound, making us slaves to the machine. A high price tag doesn't necessarily make a musical instrument better either. After all, it doesn't play itself – what matters is who's manipulating the strings, sticks, keys, knobs, and buttons.

From abstract sound experiment to earworm.

With rare exceptions, our works are original compositions. If not, they are radically reinterpreted traditional songs or children's songs. Our musical range extends from experimental sound structures, unbound by scales or conventional harmony, to danceable songs that invite sing-alongs.

Use, cooperation and participation:

The music published here is, of course, protected by copyright. Anyone wishing to use our tracks, songs, or parts thereof for their own projects, such as videos or websites, is welcome to submit a request for permission. We also welcome anyone who would like to integrate our sound art into their event. Last but not least, we are always happy to receive offers of active participation in our music!

The name Sanaphantastron, ...

... by the way, is a portmanteau of the words Sanaphant and Phantastron. These are themselves also neologisms, each combining two words, and are names for circuit types in electronics using vacuum tubes, which were used, among other things, in early synthesizers for sound generation. Sana means healthy, Phantas means fantastic, and Tron is short for electronic. That's exactly what we want to be!
